Ahold USA chooses Capgemini and Enabler Wipro for retail business transformation initiative

4407.jpgAhold, one of the world’s leading grocery retailers has chosen Capgemini, one of the world’s foremost providers of consulting, technology and outsourcing services and Enabler Wipro, a leading international IT and business services company, for a multi-year consulting and systems integration project to build applications designed to differentiate Ahold brands in the US market. Capgemini and Enabler Wipro will assist Ahold USA in deploying Oracle Retail applications to support its strategic initiatives across a broad range of areas including merchandising, supply chain, store operations, planning, and analysis.

The enterprise-wide system will replace a mix of packaged and custom applications, and the collaboration between Capgemini and Enabler Wipro will provide consulting and integration services for one of the largest retail industry transformation initiatives on an Oracle platform in the world.

Ahold commissioned Capgemini and Enabler Wipro to work in a collaborative partnership – Capgemini demonstrating its strength in Business Transformation and Enabler Wipro employing its Oracle Retail solution experience, successfully demonstrated through previous large implementations.

This latest initiative builds on a successful long-term relationship between Capgemini and Ahold in Europe, where Capgemini has helped Albert Heijn, the Dutch supermarket chain owed by Ahold, streamline product data management in a key step towards global data synchronisation. In addition, Capgemini and Ahold have collaborated in a number of cross-industry task forces and associations, including the Global Commerce Initiative, ECR Europe and the Grocery Manufacturers of America.
