Aimia Foods is a £70m privately-owned food and beverage manufacturer who employs 300 staff across three adjacent sites in Haydock, Merseyside. It supplies over 350 drink and meal accompaniment products directly to the UK’s retail, foodservice, cash and carry and vending service markets and owns a number of trade brands and exclusive licensing partnerships. In 2012 Aimia Foods was crowned Factory of the Year at the Best Factory Awards after demonstrating its high levels of quality standards and customer service.
Aimia Foods underwent a complete review of its business intelligence software as it needed a faster reporting model and wanted to be able to search and visually analyse information on sales, operations and finance. It also wanted to speed up the reporting process from its ERP system and improve how information was gained and distributed across the business. It also needed to empower staff by giving them access to live data that they could easily understand and quickly manipulate in order to make important business decisions.
Aimia Foods chose the QlikView Business Discovery platform from Qlik Partner Solution Provider Informance after seeing a ‘proof of concept’ demonstration using Aimia’s own data. They were instantly impressed by QlikView as it enabled them to answer any question about their business. Informance deployed QlikView and delivered an end-to-end solution including the development of a number of interactive QlikView dashboards for searching and displaying up-to-date information on sales, operations, overall equipment efficiency and finance.
With QlikView Aimia Foods now has complete visibility across its entire business and the software has helped it to improve standards in manufacturing procedures and enhance its quality and service levels. Information delivery has been improved and decision-making is faster with complete data consolidation and availability of real-time performance information. Aimia now has better monitoring of its manufacturing activities which are linked to key performance indicators and goals and aligned with its corporate strategy plus hourly measurements of production line efficiencies and performance.
