GroceryAid, the charity for the UK grocery and FMCG marketplace has announced Asda’s Chief Merchandising Officer Andrew Moore as new President of the GroceryAid Fundraising Committee. Andrew takes over from Jason Tarry in April 2016.

Commenting on his new role, Andrew stated, “I am honoured to be taking on this role on behalf of Asda.

GroceryAid does important and fantastic work helping colleagues in our industry and we are proud to continue our relationship with the charity.”

Andrew began his career at M&S holding a number of senior positions within the Buying Groups. In 2004 he was promoted to Director of General Merchandise Planning. In 2007 Andrew left M&S and set up his own retail consultancy in South Africa.

In 2008 Andrew moved back to the UK and joined George clothing, part of Asda. In January 2015, Andrew was promoted to Chief Merchandising Officer and his remit covers Food, Clothing, Home and General Merchandise.

With Andrew on board it gives us a fantastic opportunity to build on our fundraising base and help even more grocery people in need.”
