Beatson investment provides solution to product shortfall

investment.jpgLeading glass manufacturer Beatson Clark has announced a £2 million investment in machinery and facilities to supply an extra 75 million units of clear glass containers to the industry. “Over the past 18 months the industry has seen demand considerably outstrip supply of clear glass jars and bottles. This significant investment will enable us to improve our service to our customers whilst offering more choice for quality glass packaging,” commented Dave Armitage, Production Director for Beatson Clark.

The award winning company is in the process of installing the additional line which will include an eight section, double gob IS machine, pulling 65 tonnes of glass from the furnace each day. As with all Beatson Clark’s lines it will have top and base inspection units, as well as multi-stationed rotating equipment for neck and sidewall inspection, ensuring high quality containers. A Zechetti palletiser will bulk pack the containers produced on the line.

The new investment will extend Beatson Clark’s capability to produce containers in virtually any shape and size.

The investment will also create employment opportunities within Beatson Clark. The company will have permanent positions available on this new line which will be filled by up to 15 of their current temporary employees.

Charlotte Muscroft, Marketing Manager for Beatson Clark said: “We understand that there is a demand for clear flint glass, and by improving our facilities at Rotherham we can meet our customer’s requirements, ensuring their products stand out amongst their competitors.”

Charlotte continued: “Beatson Clark has always been committed to its customers and providing them with an unrivalled level of service. We feel that this significant investment, coupled with our overseas supply partners and emphasis on providing the industry with much needed products, will ensure our customers of continuity of supply combined with the high quality, flexibility and design innovation they have come to expect from Beatson Clark.”

Due to the high demand and to ensure all scheduling is in line with customer’s requirements, Beatson Clark is now taking enquiries regarding clear glass containers.
