Bidvest Foodservice, one of the UK’s leading foodservice providers, has celebrated the achievements and talents of the northern region’s team members at the annual ‘A Night with 100 Northern Stars’ event.
The awards were open to all 1,600 employees throughout the northern region where colleagues nominated ‘Northern Star’ performers across 11 categories touching all areas of the business.
The shortlisted nominees gathered for the glittering ceremony at the Low Wood Bay Hotel on the banks of Lake Windermere in the Lake District to find out if they had scooped a 2015 Northern Star award.
Awards celebrating superb achievements and contributions included the Site Excellence Manager Award; Warehouse Person of the Year (Nights); Warehouse Person of the Year (Days); Sales Leader of the Year; Driver of the Year; Telesales Executive of the Year; Specialist Sales Person of the Year; Operational Leader of the Year; Support Service Person of the Year; Business Manager of the Year; and the prestigious Managing Director’s Award.
Among the winners was Maureen Hewitt, telesales manager from the Birmingham depot who received the 2015 Managing Director’s Award for Exceptional Performance. Maureen, who was also nominated in the sales leadership category, was singled out for talking absolute pride in her team’s achievements, constantly delivering outstanding performance, and shining brightest overall in the region.
In addition to the 11 awards, Norman Wemyss, managing director – north at Bidvest Foodservice, recognised four other lucky team stars who won a once in a lifetime trip to Johannesburg, South Africa to attend the company’s Chairman’s Dinner Awards with their partners.
