Speciality Foods Wholesaler Appoints Two New Regional Sales Managers

Brindisa Spanish Foods has announced the appointment of two regional account managers. The newly created positions are dedicated to bringing Spain’s finest products to retail and foodservice operators in Scotland and the North of England.

Established over thirty years ago, the majority of Brindisa’s sales have, historically, been to customers in the south of the UK. This new strategy sees the company turning more attention to the sizable opportunities that exist outside this traditional territory. With growing trade interest in the Brindisa range, Gayle Swan and Joe Whittick have been appointed to expand the business’ presence and better service the needs of existing and potential customers.

Swan’s remit will cover Scotland. With over 20 years’ in hospitality under her belt, Swan’s experience is made up of stints with several of Scotland’s most prestigious names, including Brakes and an independent café in Glasgow – renowned for introducing products from Italian food supplier Carluccio – to the Scottish market.

Gayle Swan commented: “I’ve been a serious foodie for a long time so I’m very excited to join the team at Brindisa for the next step in my career. There is huge demand for a quality food offering and I’m really looking forward to introducing Brindisa’s extensive range of Spanish foods to retailers and foodservice operators across Scotland.”

Appointed as Regional Account Manager for the North of England, Whittick joins Brindisa with considerable first-hand experience within the independent deli sector, having founded his own deli which now has four sites across Cheshire.

Speaking about his new role, Joe Whittick said: “I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to develop my career with such a great company – Brindisa is already a fairly recognised name in the North, despite not being widely available yet! I know from my dealings with Brindisa, as a deli owner, that there is an appetite within the retail and foodservice sectors for more diverse and premium offerings which tap into consumer trends and I hope that my role in the business will enable more operators to capitalise on the opportunity Spanish produce provides.”

Monika Linton, Chairman and Product Director at Brindisa added: “We’re thrilled to welcome Gayle and Joe to the team. They both bring drive, passion and a wealth of experience to the business. We’ve been advocating Spanish food in the South East of the UK for the past three decades, so it’s an exciting step to able to expand the business further through dedicated regional managers. We believe this on the ground presence will help us to establish much stronger relationships with customers over the coming months and years.”
