Daniels Group is extending its chilled drinks portfolio with the launch of JU – an innovative range of super juices that taps into the emerging trend among women to focus on beauty from within.
JU comprises a range of three functional drinks. Each one uses ingredients known to have natural benefits that improve the physical appearance of hair, skin or nails.
The JU line-up comprises three 250ml products – JU Hair Shine featuring apricot, coconut, milk and honey with a blend of seeds; JU Skin Glow featuring kiwi pear and apple with aloe vera; JU Nail Strong featuring raspberry and goji berry with wheat germ.
Packaging highlights the fact that JU is made from ingredients known to have natural health benefits, containing carefully selected ingredients proven to contribute to overall health and vitality.
Andrew Ovens, Daniels Group Marketing Manager, says JU fills a gap in the market not addressed by smoothies or other functional drinks.
“The JU range focuses on external wellbeing. Food and drink with appearance-enhancing ingredients are well established in Europe, particularly in Mediterranean countries, but this is a relatively new profit opportunity for UK retailers.
“We are pioneering a concept that we believe will have broad appeal as people increasingly look to products that can enhance their appearance naturally from within, even in times of economic downturn.”
JU has already secured its first listings in Waitrose, with other multiple retail listings expected to follow. The rrp is £1.99p.
Daniels Group is one of the UK’s most progressive chilled food companies, with a portfolio that includes Johnson’s Juices, the UK’s best-selling range of freshly squeezed juices and New Covent Garden Soup, market leader in the UK’s £111 million fresh soup category.
