The UK’s leading Spanish food importer and wholesaler, Brindisa, has extended its line of premium quality preserved fish. New for 2020 are two new products from artisan producer Herpac, which have been created especially for foodservice customers.

Fish continues to be a significant category of growth for Brindisa; particularly as more customers look for sustainably sourced options and foods with known health benefits. The frequent association with exotic shores, paired with its versatility makes seafood a popular choice for consumers when dining out. It’s no surprise then, that seafood is now worth an impressive £4.1bn[1] to the UK foodservice market.

Established 30 years ago, Herpac is a leading Spanish supplier of salted, canned and smoked fish, based in Cadiz, Andalusia. The company remains family run and embraces the age-old traditions of fishing and preserving. Herpac is immensely proud of its craft skills and offer guided tours of the factory, which is surrounded by an area of natural beauty.

HERPAC SMOKED SARDINE FILLETS

Fished in the eastern Atlantic and processed at Harpac’s factory in Barbate, Cádiz. The fresh sardines are filleted and cured with smoked sea salt.

Serve on sourdough bread with sliced tomato and a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil for a delicious mouthful of pure Spanish sea flavour.

HERPAC SMOKED YELLOWFIN TUNA CUBES

These tender yellowfin tuna loins are lovingly cured before being smoked, meaning they’re delectable and ready to eat immediately. Combine with pickles to make delicious pintxos.

Monika Linton, Chairman and Product Director at Brindisa, comments: “We’re excited to introduce these delicious new preserved fish products to our premium range of Spanish seafood. We pride ourselves on bringing only the best of Spanish food to the UK, so we’re thrilled to be able to extend that range with the introduction of not one but two high-quality products from the authentic Spanish supplier, Herpac.”
