Global Brands Adds More Canned Cocktail Flare with New Flavour and Packaging

  • Independent drinks company adds new Passion Fruit Martini to top-selling Flare range of canned cocktails
  • New product innovation follows 32%[1] growth in sales of Flare, which is exclusive to independent retailers
  • Whole of the Flare canned cocktail range gets redesign to celebrate new flavour launch

Following a year of growing sales, independent drinks company Global Brands has expanded its range of value canned cocktails Flare by adding a new Passion Fruit Martini flavour.

The new product innovation has also seen the drinks manufacturer and distributer, redesign cans throughout the range, which is available exclusively in the independent retail sector.  Sales of Flare outperformed the fast-growing canned cocktail market, with volume sales of the range growing by 32%[2], with the canned cocktail category now worth £48.4 million.[3]

Christian Sarginson, Brand Controller at Global Brands, comments: “In cocktail terms, passion fruit really is the on-trend flavour, and is the number one on-trade cocktail serve according to CGA[4]. The new Passion Fruit Martini flavour will enable retailers to drive further RTS cocktail growth in stores.

“The new addition fits the Flare range perfectly, sitting alongside other top serves; Mojito, Cosmo and On The Beach, meaning retailers can give consumers exactly what they’re looking for when searching fridges for lightly sparkling cocktails full of flavour.”

In fitting with the rest of the Flare range, the new cocktail also has a 4% ABV and is packaged in a PMP 250ml can. Packaging throughout the range has been redesigned to feature bright and vibrant colours. These reflect the fruit flavourings and juices of each cocktail, while the name of the cocktails feature more prominently on the cans.

Christian adds: “The colourful new can designs will really stand-out in retailers’ fridges, while the larger, bolder fonts make it easier for consumers to find popular cocktail flavours they’re familiar with, helping to drive sales. This is a fast-moving, very trend-led category. Consumers want new flavours and more importantly, authentic-tasting drinks.  We’ve continued to invest in product innovation and developing the range to support retailers in meeting consumer demand.”
