Go Local Extra Children In Need Success

Two days of fun organised by Go Local Extra in North Wingfield, Chesterfield raised over £700 for Children In Need and brought together the local community to support a good cause.

Staff from the store visited children at North Wingfield Primary School and in Chesterfield Royal Hospital on Friday 20th November. Store owners, ‘Rocky’ Amardeep Sandhu and his sister Kiren dressed as superheroes and another member of staff dressed as Pudsey bear and gave away sweets, biscuits and other goodies as well as raffling goody bags which had been provided by wholesaler, Parfetts. On Saturday 21st November, the store held a Best Dressed Superhero Competition and another raffle where a huge hamper full of sweets was the prize.

After the event, Rocky said: “All in all it was a great couple of days and we loved every minute of it. I’d like to thank everyone for helping to make the days so successful.”

Chris Salt of Parfetts Sheffield Depot said: “Rocky and his sister, Kiren really put a lot of effort into these fundraising events – they really are a credit to the local community and are planning many more events for 2016.”

Go Local Extra is a member of Parfetts’ industry-leading retail club. It is located off a main road on a bus route in North Wingfield, a large village approx. 4.5 miles south-east of Chesterfield.
