Grace Foods UK, the leading supplier of Caribbean food and drink, is launching an annual fund-raising campaign which, in the first year, will focus on improving conditions of education for young children in Jamaica, aged 3 – 5 years.

The ‘Penny Pledge’ campaign is expected to raise up to £10,000 for The Jamaica Basic Schools Foundation over the next 12 months.
Money will be raised by Grace Foods UK donating one penny from every case of Grace-branded products sold by its UK subsidiary, Enco Products Limited.

Enco Products Head of Marketing, Nyree Chambers said retailers could now buy many of the UK’s best-selling Caribbean food and drink products in the knowledge that every case they bought would contribute to a worthwhile cause, improving the lives of disadvantaged, young children.

Jamaica Basic Schools Foundation Founder Josephine Williams said Grace Foods’ support would make ‘a real difference’ to disadvantaged children in Jamaica.

“Resources and facilities that are taken for granted in the UK are not readily available to many children in Jamaica,” she said.

“Many schools, particularly those in outlying regions, lack basic facilities and children have to learn in challenging conditions.
Every penny raised will make a tangible difference by improving the lives of young children.”
