Grace Foods UK, the UK’s leading supplier of Caribbean food and drink*1, enables wholesalers to take advantage of rising consumer demand for exciting new flavours from around the world.

The company accounts for more than one third of all Caribbean food and drink sold in the UK*1 and boasts a broad range of products including chilli sauces range Encona, Grace Plantain Chips, nutritionally enriched milk drink Nurishment and Grace Say Aloe drinks.

“This is an exciting time for the world cuisine sector with growing numbers of consumers expanding their taste horizons and seeking new and exotic flavours,” says Adam Reader, Managing Director for Grace Foods UK.

The versatility of the Encona range enables consumers to add exciting world flavours to any meal meaning that retailers and wholesalers can generate maximum profits.”

These trends are reflected in the impressive growth of the Afro-Caribbean category, which is worth over £96 million in the UK, and growing at +18% YoY in convenience.*2

“Grace Foods is the leading supplier of Caribbean food and drink in the UK with a 35.9% market share*1,” says Reader.

Grace Foods UK has recently launched new Grace Chunky Mackerel. Available in three classic flavours: Brine, Tomato Sauce and Hot Tomato Sauce.

The mackerel, available in two pack sizes, is ideal as a scratch cooking ingredient or for single-portion snacking (RRP £1.50 425g and £1.00 200g / case sizes of 12) and can be enjoyed hot or cold.

“Grace’s new chunky mackerel is a Caribbean favourite, incredibly versatile and perfect for shoppers on a food-to-go or family mealtime mission,” says Reader.

“Our Hot Tomato Sauce flavour is perfect for shoppers looking for something with a little extra kick, while all three variants make the perfect addition to sandwiches, pasta or rice dishes, salads and even flaked onto pizza.”

Last year Encona, the UK’s no.1 hot pepper sauce brand*3, launched a limited edition Carolina Reaper Chilli Sauce; the hottest ever to be produced by a mainstream table sauce brand.

The sauce is available in 142ml glass bottle format (RRP £1.49 / case sizes of 6), featuring the Carolina Reaper chilli, blended with tomatoes, garlic, cumin and orange to create a well-rounded, fiery and fruity flavour.

The impactful limited edition label and striking pack design create standout on shelf, with a bold heat warning, daring consumers to take on the chilli challenge.

“This is the hottest sauce that Encona has ever produced, using the Carolina Reaper chilli – a chilli renowned for being the hottest in the world,” Reader continues.

“Encona’s Carolina Reaper Chilli Sauce enables retailers to tap into consumer demand for sauces that are full of flavour and hotter than ever. There is a huge profit opportunity for retailers looking to develop their hot sauce offering, and the ‘get it while it’s here’ appeal of a limited edition sauce adds to this.”
