Green’s, the UK’s number one children’s cake mix brand, is adding to its successful range with a Shaun the Sheep Marshmallow Cake Kit in time for the release of Shaun the Sheep The Movie on 6th February 2015. Next year Shaun is also featuring in a major public art trail across London and Bristol called “Shaun in the City”, he will appear as merchandise partner for the Rugby World Cup and will star in a new Christmas 2015 TV special. 2015 is also the Chinese zodiac Year of the Sheep.
The new mixes, available in Tesco from January next year, are targeted at parents and grandparents with children aged 5-11 years old and look to retain the light-hearted, comedy appeal that saw Aardman’s biggest global property voted the nation’s all-time favourite BBC children’s TV character.
The fun kits make 12 tasty sheep cupcakes decorated with marshmallows and cake toppers showing the faces of the flock. Using 100% natural flavouring and ingredients, Green’s aims to make baking interactive and engaging for all the family. For every pack sold, Green’s will make a donation to Wallace & Gromit’s Children’s Charity.
Capitalising on Shaun’s cross generational appeal, the Kerry Foods-owned brand will support the launch of the new kits with significant levels of investment in social media and PR support throughout the first half of 2015.
Green’s is also looking to refresh its Pancake Day offering with two new mixes for 2015: Spooky Scooby-Doo Pancake Kit and a Chocolate Pancakes Kit. Rolling out across stores in time for Pancake Day on 17th February 2015, these two exciting, cost effective (RSP £1) products are designed to increase market penetration within the home baking aisle.
