We are proud to announce that Toyota is an official partner of Red Nose Day 2015 and is planning a nationwide string of activities to help reach the target of raising one million pounds, which includes sole supply of red noses for vehicles.

RND15_Logo&PartnerAWThe fundraising initiative brings together all of Toyota’s UK businesses with a combined workforce of more than 10,000 people. All money raised for Red Nose Day will be used by Comic Relief to support projects helping transform the lives of people here in the UK and Africa.

Every Toyota business, employee and retail partner in the UK will be breaking out into their local communities and doing a whole host of fun and challenging things for money to reach their ambition of raising one million pounds for Red Nose Day 2015.

Tony Wallis, Sales and Marketing Director for Toyota Material Handling UK says, “We are delighted to bring the Toyota family together in the UK to support this great charity. Together we will be working hard to raise as much money as possible, spread the word about the great work of the Comic Relief charity and have a huge amount of fun on the way”.

Toyota will also be helping boost the total raised for Comic Relief by selling the official red noses for vehicles, exclusively through Toyota companies and its dealer network. These noses are available for any make or model vehicle and can be purchased for £5, with all £5 being donated to Comic Relief.

Wallis adds “At Toyota Material Handling UK, we have challenged all of our sales, after-sales and support teams to raise money through the sale of car noses, but also by having some fun in the centres. It is a great opportunity to work together as a team whilst contributing to these fantastic projects. We are also hoping that anyone reading this article joins us by buying a vehicle red nose or making a donation of any kind to our giving site – it’s a time when everyone associated with logistics and supply can help us to show what a fantastic industry we have”

A little bit about Comic Relief

Comic Relief is a major charity based in the UK, with a vision of a just world, free from poverty. Every two years, since 1988, its flagship campaign Red Nose Day has been inspiring the nation to help change the lives of people in the UK and Africa. It’s six weeks of fundraising culminating with a fun-filled night of TV comedy and entertainment on 13 March 2015.

The money raised assists a wide range of initiatives, focused on creating lasting change for people and communities facing tough challenges. In the UK alone, you are never more than 35 miles from a Comic Relief funded project with over 1,500 active projects at any one time. Here are some examples of what the money raised can do:

• £65 could pay for a group of older people with dementia to go on a day trip to a local attraction.

• £100 could enable a vulnerable young person to set up a farming business in Uganda, so they can work their own way out of poverty.

• £500 could pay for a fun day out for 20 young carers in the UK, giving them a rare and vital break from their huge responsibilities at home.
