A brand new fuel for woodfired pizza ovens, which burns longer, hotter and cleaner than traditional firewood, is now available nationwide.
Pizazz is an eco-friendly fuel made in the UK from 100% FSC Certified Sweet Chestnut wood.
As a clean alternative to firewood, Pizazz briquettes have a 0.5 per cent ash residue which means less mess after burning and their low moisture content allowing them to produce a significantly higher level of heat without splintering or breaking during use. Unlike similar products in the market, Pizazz briquettes are made in the UK from British forests. No additives are used in the process as Pizazz are formed naturally by using the lignin in the wood which when heated binds and seals the briquettes.
The briquettes are clean and easy to handle with no splinters and don’t expand or crumble while burning making them one of the safest options on the market.

Patrick Price from Renfrew set up his own pizza oven in the garden two years ago. After trialling Pizazz Pat said: “I was excited to try out these new briquettes and began by using conventional kindling and fire lighters to get them started. I found they caught very well and burned with a good flame.
“After just one hour my oven was up at 450 degrees Celsius, a good thirty minutes faster than normal. They produced a strong heat and cooked my pizzas within two or three minutes. As they helped my oven reach higher temperatures I found cooking times were slightly faster than normal and the pizzas turned out deliciously.
“The next morning my oven had some fine ash left in it which was cleaned easily so all in all I found Pizazz to be a very good product and I’d definitely recommend it to others.”
