National wholesaler JJ Foodservice has invested in a dozen smaller vehicles to support its thriving direct-to-consumer businesses in London, which now offers Same Day Deliveries.
Head of Operations at JJ Foodservice, Sedat Kaan Hendekli, said, “Our new smaller vehicles are more urban-friendly and help our drivers to navigate narrow residential streets and cul-de-sacs.”
JJ’s Next Day Home Delivery Service and Same Day Service for London has attracted more than 30,000 new household customers over the past eight weeks.
One of the most popular home products has been JJ’s fresh chicken. “We are selling one million kilograms of chicken a month,” said Chief Product Officer, Sezer Ozkul. “It’s an increase of 10% on last year, and that’s with our core restaurant customers still closed.”
With ongoing social distancing measures expected to last until the end of the year, JJ says it is well-positioned to grow its support to households.
“We will continue developing our product range and service to support consumers,” added Kaan.
