Pemberton & Whitefoord has designed the 2017 seasonal packaging for Kinder, now the fourth largest confectionery brand in the UK.

The packaging solutions include Christmas favourites: Kinder Mini Hangable Stars, Kinder Fluffy Toy (polar bear, reindeer or racoon) with Mini Chocolates and Kinder Surprise Grotto. Adding to the 2017 seasonal line-up are two new products, the muchanticipated Kinder Mix Advent Calendar and Kinder Chocolate Santa Letter. The latter comprises 2x 100g Kinder Chocolate bars, paper, stickers and an envelope; children can write letters to ‘Santa’ which will be replied to.

With ‘personalisation’ currently one of the biggest buzzwords in retail, P&W designed the customisable packaging for 100g Kinder Surprise eggs, which Ferrero based an inventive consumer experience around. The Christmas Market at John Lewis’ flagship Oxford Street store features a Kinder Workshop, selling the latest seasonal products. There is an in-store printing service for Kinder lovers to create personalised large Kinder Surprise eggs (for themselves or loved ones). P&W created the three character options (a penguin, reindeer and snowman).

It is not the first time Ferrero has tapped into the personalisation trend; in 2015/16, P&W assisted with its ‘Your Nutella, Your Way’ campaign.
