Llanelli Depot Manager awarded top Everywoman in Transport and Logistics award

susan_davies.jpgThe Llanelli Depot Manager for Home Delivery Network Limited (HDNL) has been awarded the prestigious Customer Services Award at the Everywoman in Transport and Logistics awards ceremony held in London last month. Susan Davies was commended for her inspirational leadership skills, being the embodiment of quality customer service and using her “infectious personality and enthusiasm to inspire those around her to do their utmost for the customer.” Susan joined HDNL twelve years ago as a part-time clerk. After quickly realising a career in the logistics sector was for her, she underwent an intensive personal development programme and built a solid knowledge of customer care, revenue protection, process compliance and operations management whilst performing various roles around the organisation.

Today, she regularly takes the role of Area Manager, managing seven other depots in the area, as well as managing the daily operation at Llanelli.

David Marshall, HDNL Area Manager said of her victory: “The results achieved by the Llanelli depot are a testament to the hard work and commitment to success that is driven from the front by Susan. However, Susan’s success could not have been achieved alone. Her team support and uphold her values and in turn put her dedication into practice with every delivery, every day.”

Susan is no stranger to winning awards. Earlier this year she scooped the Gold award at the HDNL Customer First Awards. She was credited as being instrumental in using her drive, expertise and commitment to lead the Llanelli depot to an over 98% compliance rate in 200 different processes.

A delighted Susan said of her win: “I was really touched to be nominated by HDNL but never believed I was going to win. Winning the award has meant so much to me as it’s recognition for all my hard work. The day was a truly memorable one and even more so because I walked away a winner!”

The Everywoman in Transport and Logistics Awards were set up to highlight the contribution women have made in this traditionally male-dominated sector, and encourage more women to pursue a career in it. “The hundreds of entries and the calibre of nominees have certainly proved that there is a huge talent base of woman in this industry” said award co-founders, Karen Gill and Maxine Benson.

Home Delivery Network Limited is the UK’s largest home delivery and collection service handling over 2.2 million parcels a week. They have the capacity to sort and deliver parcels of all shapes and sizes from clothing and fresh flowers to bulky home furniture.
