Loving the udder udderly indulgent festival milkshake mooves from field to shelf

A new breed of milkshake – Shaken Udder – has been remooving its wellies and brushing off the mud to take its place on the Harvey Nichols Foodmarket stage. A festival favourite since 2004, the overwhelming demand for the nutritious, naturally and locally sourced treats has spurred a bottled milkshake revolution for the masses. Determined to revive the milkshake from its 1970s heyday, Shaken Udder has stayed true to their retro, hippy roots and use fresh milk from the East Anglian region and only the finest ingredients, with no artificial colourings, flavourings and preservatives.

What’s moore they taste like no udder, containing the ‘real’ ingredients of the flavours they boast. Strawberry Cheesecake actually tastes like a liquid form of the delicious dessert (think the dessert flavoured chewing gum in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.)
Priced at £1.99 per 330ml bottle, the Harvey Nichols range will include the following four flavours:

• Top Banana – Bananas were born to be blended and this full throttle fruit feast, made with real bananas is a deliriously deep fruit fix, perfect for the avid banana buff
• Chocolush – With a generous helping of real chocolate, this shake is milky brown liquid heaven.
• Shake the Cake – Why should strawberry cheesecake connoisseurs have to fiddle around with forks and crumbly biscuit bases when this beautifully blended shake is the delicious concoction itself, made using real strawberries
• Strawberry Stash – A seriously smooth fruity fix packed with real strawberries giving this intensely fruity flavour.

The brand was founded by university friends Jodie Farran and Andy Howie. Co-founder Howie says: “A few moons ago, Jodie and I were regulars on the festival scene, where we noticed the absence of tasty, nutritious milkshakes. We then went to the shops and arrived at the same conclusion. So, armed with nothing more than our Kenwood blender, udders of milk and array of ingredients – everything from cookies to Black Jacks – we began to create what is now Shaken Udder.”
