They are leading the way in the craft cider category – and are on top of the latest low alcohol trends. Sheppy’s latest launch, Low Alcohol Classic Cider, is now available in Tesco stores across the country.
Consumers’ lifestyle choices are changing. They are increasingly looking for options with lower alcohol that still taste great and are made by experts in their field. Sheppy’s real cider meets these needs. Each of Sheppy’s cider variants are made by Master of Cider himself, David Sheppy, using methods, knowledge and expertise handed down over six generations.
Taste Is Paramount
A beautifully light and crisp low alcohol cider with a refreshing apple taste. Sheppy’s Low Alcohol Classic Cider has the same flavour profile of their traditional cider, but with less alcohol. It is made with a carefully selected blend of Somerset’s finest traditional and dessert cider apples – and is just as enjoyable as Sheppy’s award winning Classic Draught Cider.
David Sheppy comments: “Our Low Alcohol Classic Cider offers all our craft credentials; flavour and excellent quality – just with a lower ABV of 0.5%. I have spent months perfecting this recipe to ensure that it stays true to our traditional cider roots. The team are thrilled with the result and are looking forward to sharing it with Tesco customers across the UK.”
Tesco cider buyer Luke O’Connor said: “The low alcohol market is set to boom – and so we wanted to expand our range in this area. Cider drinkers sophisticated in their tastes and we are seeing increased demand for craft ciders. With the two centuries of Somerset provenance behind the Sheppy’s brand, we are delighted to offer Sheppy’s Low Alcohol Classic Cider to our Tesco customers.”
An Early Harvest
Thanks to what could be the hottest summer on record, Sheppy’s harvest will commence on September 10th – the earliest ever. The busiest time on the farm, David Sheppy and his team harvest 90 acres of organic cider apple orchards where some trees are over 100 years old. He continues to champion the same traditional methods, using rare crafting skills to produce the Sheppy’s range of award winning and world class premium ciders.
Doors are open at Sheppy’s House of Cider and Fine Food throughout the harvest and pressing season. Guided and VIP tours are available – and visitors can enjoy the restaurant, café and farm shop selling locally grown produce including meat from David Sheppy’s herd of pedigree Longhorn cattle.
