Welsh Hills Bakery has launched a new range of gluten free cakes and biscuits for its discerning retail customers. Under the ‘Lovemore Free From’ brand, the range is free from wheat, gluten and dairy but without removing any of the luxury taste associated with a premium product. With urgent deadlines to get the products on the supermarket shelves looming, Aberdare based Welsh Hills had to move quickly to convert the artwork from their pre-existing cartons into a film flow-wrap format so that the range could be packed and launched in time.
Film packaging specialists National Flexible were brought in to help with the launch, and making full use of their in-house design facilities, the artwork was quickly adapted to fit the layout of the new flow-wrap packs. Phil Parkinson – National Flexible’s Design Manager was on hand to oversee the project from start to finish.
“National Flexible were really helpful,” said Howard Davies, Managing Director at Welsh Hills. “We were novices to using printed packaging film, so we were grateful that they made the whole project very easy for us with their expertise,” he continued.
The South Wales bakery has more products, including savouries, in development as the brand continues to grow. ‘Lovemore Free From’ products are available from Waitrose stores and selected independent retailers now.
