Following the results of a customer feedback survey, Beverage Company, Navson, is extending its best-selling portfolio of ambient Peela fruit juices. Navson has introduced a new pineapple flavour variant and 1 litre bottle range to offer a wider variety of drinking options for both the retailer and the consumer.
Peela is a 100% not-from-concentrate fruit juice that contains no added water, sugar or preservatives. Originally launched in July 2009, Peela is now available in apple, orange, pear and pineapple varieties in 250ml or 1 litre recyclable bottles. A 250ml serving provides one portion of your 5 a day allowance of fruit and vegetables.
Nevid Ahmed, Marketing Director at Navson, comments: “Following a successful product launch last year, we decided to talk directly to the Peela consumer to try to understand what would make the range even more appealing to them.”
“What was clear was that the Peela drinker wanted a wide variety of juices that could be stored in the cupboard or the fridge and consumed on-the-go, to help make meeting the 5 a day fruit and veg allowance just that little bit easier. Pineapple was introduced to increase our flavour portfolio and to take the brand in a more exotic direction. Moving forward we intend to increase the range with flavours including mango and guava. Demand was also high for a larger sharing-size bottle, so we have introduced a new 1 litre variant.”
Listings
Listings for all four variants have been secured with Easy Jet, Thomas Cook and Swiss Air airlines as well as leading petroleum chain, Euro Garages. Navson’s superior production capabilities mean that Peela is a pioneer in the not-from-concentrate sector, removing the need for a cold chain and extending the shelf life up to six months. This enables the retailer to store the product ambient and serve chilled, reducing its overall carbon footprint and wastage. Peela has as a recommended retail selling price of 99p for 250ml or £1.79 for 1 litre.
