New Covent Garden, the UK’s best-selling fresh soup brand, is launching its 2011 summer soup range with the introduction of a new seasonal special, Classic Vichyssoise. The new 600g variant (rrp £2.00) comprises leeks, potatoes, cream, onions and chives and heads a four-strong range of summer soups that can be enjoyed hot or cold.
Other variants in New Covent Garden’s 2011 summer range, which will be on sale until September, are three traditional summer favourites – Gazpacho, Pea & Mint and Summer Vegetable. “The summer range plays a key role in introducing new consumers to New Covent Garden, particularly people who are into al fresco dining and want to enjoy seasonal vegetables at their very best,” says Nigel Parrott, New Covent Garden’s Group Marketing Director.
New Covent Garden continues to maintain its dominance of the UK’s £160 million fresh soup market. The £63 million brand has a 39% value share of the market, five times more than the combined share of all other branded fresh soups.*
