New Covent Garden unveils new summer soups range

Covent-Garden-01Fresh food specialist New Covent Garden is launching two new soups as part of its seasonal ‘summer range’ for 2010.

The two new 600g variants, Sunshine Yellow Tomato and Spicy Sweetcorn, join three existing summer soups – Gazpacho and Summer Vegetable, both of which feature new and improved recipes, and Pea & Mint.

Group Marketing Director Nigel Parrott describes the summer variants as ‘New Covent Garden’s strongest ever seasonal line-up’.

“New Covent garden is now clearly established as a brand with all-year-round appeal. Part of the new summer range’s strength is its versatility as all varieties can be enjoyed hot or cold, indoors or outdoors, which will attract new consumers to the brand,” he says.

Each of the summer range (rrp £1.99; outers of 6) is packed with summer vegetables. New Sunshine Yellow Tomato features yellow plum tomatoes with carrots, butternut and red chilli flakes. Spicy sweetcorn combines the sweetness of corn with a lively kick of chilli.

The originator of the fresh soup category, New Covent Garden continues to dominate the £139 million market with a 43% volume share, almost six times higher than all other branded fresh soups combined.*
