Midlands based Oakland International Ltd has appointed Paul Smith as Operations Manager, further strengthening its senior management team at a time of strong positive growth, and to underpin the firm’s expanding customer base and predicted growth for the next 3 years. Oakland delivers supply chain solutions for chilled, ambient and frozen goods daily throughout the UK, Ireland and Europe to retailers, discounters and foodservice outlets such as Tesco, Waitrose, Spar, Nisa, Aldi, Londis and Palmer & Harvey.

Paul’s personal claim to fame is that he went to school with and played in the same team as footballers Stan Collymore and Andy Thompson, and that his out of hours passion is his support of Walsall FC. In his spare time Paul also coaches of the Wyrley Juniors U9’s Football Club, running coaching sessions for players aged 5 to 16 years, which all help to keep him fit.
