mike-alibone.jpgSSI Schaefer stands out from the crowd, yet again, at this year’s successful Internet Retailing’s annual one-day conference and exhibition for UK’s e-tailers and multichannel retailers. The well attended event, attracting more interest than in previous years, was an opportunity for SSI Schaefer to showcase their unique offering of cutting edge storage and materials handling solutions to an industry that continues to grow by the day.

Newly appointed Business Development Manager at SSI Schaefer, Mike Alibone, said: “On-line shopping now accounts for around 7% of all retail spending – and some experts say that figure will rise to as much as a half within five years. The on-line industry is active and an area that does not appear to be affected by current economic conditions with more than £26bn being spent online in the UK in the first half of this year.”

He continued: “SSI Schaefer is able to offer the on-line industry cost-effective and efficient storage and handling solutions for any warehousing and distribution part of operations when providing customers with goods via the internet.”

SSI Schaefer generated a significant amount of attention at Internet Retailing 2008 as the only materials handling provider to exhibit and provided attendees with many innovative ideas for small, rapidly growing internet business operations as well as established businesses. The focus in particular was on the broad spectrum of automated and labour-saving picking methodologies and unique storage concepts for which the company is renowned, irrespective of the nature of the product.

SSI Schaefer continues to be the UK’s leading storage and materials handling solutions provider continually expanding into new territories – Schaefer now aims to become the leading supplier for the operational side of internet retailing.
