Palmer and Harvey, the UK’s number one delivered wholesaler, again showed its support for the local Telford community at this year’s Pro-retail show.
Along with suppliers, they donated a record thirteen tonnes of goods to Telford food bank, who they have partnered with for the past two years to provide locals with much needed non-perishable goods from the show.
After days of counting, sorting and verifying the supplies, the food bank confirmed the final donation figure of an estimated thirteen tonnes.
In two years, Palmer and Harvey has donated more than 25 tonnes of goods, including food, drinks, toiletries and cleaning products to Telford food bank from the Pro-retail show.
The donations will be sent to other crisis network members for onward distribution to their clients, which include: The Salvation Army KIP project & Maninplace, Wellington YMCA, The Stay (Homeless) Project, The Dawley Christian Centre and the 1968 foundation to name but a few.
Telford food bank was opened in April 2013 by the Telford Crisis Network to provide emergency food parcels to individuals and families in need. The charity is currently supporting over 100 adults and children every week, and they are heavily reliant on regular donations.
Pro-retail has been held at The International Centre in Telford for the past 22 years and sees over 200 suppliers and thousands of retailers attend over the two-day show.

“The day after Pro-retail, Palmer and Harvey arranged for a lorry to deliver all of the donated goods right to our door and we can’t thank them enough for that, and all their help leading up to the event.
