Parfetts has announced its retail club now has over 3,000 members after a record year for growth.
The club grew from 2,400 members in January 2018 and turnover from its members now exceeds £263m. Parfetts recently reported record turnover for a second consecutive year, with total sales increasing by 6.8% to £345m in 2017-18.
Members of the retail club enjoy benefits ranging from exclusive promotions to a rebate and free point of sale. The scheme has no membership fees or contracts with no forced allocations.
Parfetts sees over 5,000 customers visit its depots or order online every week. The wholesaler says 19% of retailers now order online and enjoy the same offers that are available in the depot. Online orders can either be delivered, subject to availability, or use the ‘click and collect’ service.
Commenting on the growth, Guy Swindell, retail director of Parfetts said: “We are enjoying unprecedented growth by building our offer around the needs of the independent retailer. Our aim is to be the easiest company in our sector to do business with and add real value through keen pricing, great availability and unrivalled service.”
The wholesale group is undertaking a rapid expansion of its delivery service. The schemes now in place deliver everything from fresh and chilled products to frozen food, greetings cards and toys.
‘Click and Collect’ uses a secure system to allow buyers to nominate a Parfetts depot and order from the 1000’s or products in stock. The order is then collated, tilled and ready for collection at the nominated time.
Parfetts recently announced strong growth of its Go Local fascia, which saw store numbers leap 33% to over 400 stores nationwide. The company is targeting strong growth with easy terms to join as retailers pay no joining fees and minimal credit terms.
The company’s acquisition of a new depot in Middlesbrough expanded its network to seven sites and supported the continued growth of its delivery service.
