Leading tobacco accessories supplier, Republic Technologies (UK) Limited, has presented its annual wholesale awards, recognising cash & carry and wholesale partners for their work throughout the year.
The Republic Technologies Wholesale Awards 2017 acknowledge wholesalers and cash & carry partners who have assisted in developing the tobacco accessories category in-depot over the past year.
Gavin Anderson, General Sales Manager at Republic Technologies UK, said: “Our cash & carry and wholesale partners have shown real commitment when it comes to driving sales during what has been, at times, a challenging year in the tobacco market.
“We’re delighted to be rewarding their achievements for the third year running.”
Alex Robson, Category Manager for Tobacco at Bestway, – which won the Best Customer Activity Award and Outstanding Achievement Award – said: “Working closely with suppliers is incredibly important to us as we look to drive sales in the smoking accessories category.
“By increasing visibility of the brand and dual-siting next to the till-point, in addition to stocking in tobacco rooms, we increased the impulsivity of sales resulting in a four-fold increase on Swan products during the promotional period.
“This proves that by working collaboratively with suppliers, there is still major headroom for growth, even across highly developed categories such as tobacco.”
