miss-scotland-supported-sco.jpgBrand leader Richmond helped boost its presence in Scotland during Scottish Sausage Week by giving away over 10,500 sausage sandwiches at Asda stores across the country. The major consumer event took place from 11-18th August to consolidate Richmond’s position as the number one brand in Scotland, helping to raise further awareness and boost sales. The week long activity was also supported by a local PR campaign to drive consumers to the stores.

A host of local celebrities including Miss Scotland Stephanie Willemse and Big Brother 4 winner Cameron Stout – helped raise an impressive £2,528 for children’s charity Children 1st.

Hundreds of families flocked to the fun days to catch a glimpse of their favourite celebrity whilst thousands of happy children enjoyed free face painting and balloon making.

Richmond brand manager Belinda Lee says: “Judging by the queues for the sandwiches, there’s no doubt that Richmond is Scotland’s favourite sausage!

“Scottish Sausage Week really did go with a bang – and the fact that we could raise money for charity in the process is fantastic!”

Lou Lanos, National Corporate Partnerships Manager at CHILDREN 1ST said: “We are delighted with the amount Richmond sausages raised for CHILDREN 1ST. Scottish Sausage Week was a fantastic opportunity for families to enjoy a day out and raise vital funds for disadvantaged and vulnerable children in Scotland. We’d like to thank everyone who gave so generously.’
