William Watkins, Managing Director and founder of Radnor Hills Mineral Water Company Ltd has been nominated for the 2018 St David Award for Enterprise.

The St David Awards are an annual government awards scheme which recognizes exceptional achievements by Welsh citizens within Wales, the UK and globally. They are the highest accolades that the Welsh Government confers on its civilians.   Twenty five people have been shortlisted for the 2018 awards which will be announced at the Senedd in Cardiff on 22 March.

There are nine categories of award; Bravery, Citizenship, Culture, Enterprise, Innovation, International, Sport, and Young person.

First Minister Carwyn Jones will also give a special award on the night.  About the awards he said: “This event, now in its fifth year, is a celebration to acknowledge just some of the people who have had input to make the significant difference to someone else’s life, overcome adversity or have achieved something truly inspirational,”

“I am thrilled to be nominated in the Enterprise category in this year’s St David Awards. It’s such a great honour to be recognised for our innovation and development within the soft drinks industry and something I am extremely proud of” says William.

William has been nominated for the enterprise award.   William’s company Radnor Hills has been producing soft drinks from the family farm for twenty five years, and has become a £40 million business employing 180 people from the local area and in many cases more than one generation of a family working together.  The company keenly supports local charities and community projects from primary schools to youth groups and community centres to name a few.
