Hill-and-LavertysmallSwan, manufacturers of rolling papers and the UK’s number one best selling filters, has announced a massive new motor sport deal for 2011. Not only has the company renewed as Series Sponsor of the 2011 MCE Insurance British Superbike Championships it is also taking the title sponsorship of a brand new team: Swan Yamaha.

Working in continued partnership with Shaun Muir Racing (SMR), Swan has today confirmed they will be competing for the 2011 MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship title with Tommy Hill and Michael Laverty in the saddle of the Swan Yamaha team’s Yamaha R1.

Shaun Muir’s squad have made the switch from Honda to Yamaha machinery with full factory support as they bid for their first BSB title with a two-strong rider line up with Swan remaining as title sponsor for a second season.

Hill joins the team after narrowly missing out on the 2010 BSB title and is relishing the opportunity to be reunited with Yamaha, the manufacturer he made his BSB debut with in 2004 after winning the inaugural one-make Yamaha R6 Cup in 2003.

Laverty moves to the team after finishing fourth in this year’s BSB championship standings and the former British Supersport champion is now determined to make an impact on the Yamaha in a bid to secure a maiden title in the Superbike class.

Mark Alldred, Swan marketing manager at Republic Technologies (UK), said: “We are very excited to be involved with BSB again this year and thrilled to be title sponsor of the all new Swan Yamaha team, working with one of the biggest and best known manufactures on the paddock and in the motorbike industry. 2010 was our first season on the track and we had a great experience working with Shaun Muir. We are preparing for a big season in 2011 and are delighted to welcome Tommy Hill and Michael Laverty to the team.

“BSB is one of the most prestigious motorbike racing series in the world and a perfect platform to reach our core consumer physically and through the high-profile trackside branding. More than 5.2M viewers tune in to watch the BSB Championships and 350,000 spectators attend across the 12 events. We are really looking forward to hitting the track in 2011 and competing for the BSB title.”

Swan has become a market leader in the hand rolling cigarette market manufacturing a range of high quality filter tips, cigarette papers, and lighters.
