Following unprecedented levels of consumer media coverage of 2011’s maiden victory for the Swan Yamaha team at the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship, Republic Technologies (UK) Ltd has announced the line-up for its 2012 team.

Reigning British Champion Tommy Hill is on board to defend the team’s title and will be joined by record-breaking five-time Isle of Man TT winner Ian Hutchinson.

Swan, the roll your own filters, papers and smoking accessories brand, had high visibility in national and international TV, radio, print and online coverage of the championship in 2011 and expects this to increase this year, as fans tune in to see if the Swan Yamaha team can repeat its success. Coverage included ITV, BBC, Eurosport and national newspapers including The Sun, The Times, The Independent, Daily Mirror and Daily Star.

Mark Alldred, Marketing Manager, Republic Technologies (UK), said: “Last season was fantastic for the Swan Yamaha team and to be part of a BSB championship victory was a special moment for all of us. It couldn’t have been closer with just 0.006 seconds – or a Swan rolling paper – between Tommy and John Hopkins for the title. BSB continues to be one of the most prestigious motorbike racing series in the world and is a perfect fit for an iconic British brand that is synonymous with quality and performance. Along with our national advertising and sampling campaigns, the Swan brand will again be very visible in 2012, so retailers should stock up now!”

The BSB Championships have over 8.5 million viewers and 418,000 spectators attend across the 12 events.
