Nicky (38) impressed the judging panel, made up of four national food experts, so much with her delicious Gruyere, SPAM® & Potato Gratin, that they awarded the coveted national award to the Midlands and Anglia regional finalist.
Nicky joined six other regional finalists from across the UK at the final held at The Commonwealth Club on 17 June, where their recipes were made up by a team of specialist chefs.
Nicky and her fiancé, Matthew Shropshall, can now look forward to enjoying the holiday of lifetime to Hawaii next year, where, as part of the sensational first prize, they will visit the famous 2010 SPAM JAM® festival in Waikiki.
Nicky commented: “I can’t believe I won and that the expert foodies on the judging panel were so impressed by my Gruyere, SPAM® and Potato Gratin recipe! I had to pinch myself a few times before it sunk in, especially when last year’s winner Stuart Higgs handed over the trophy.”
