Specially developed for high speed weighing applications
Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., the world leader in serving science, has announced the launch of the Thermo Scientific Versa GP, a highly accurate and reliable checkweigher for high speed weighing applications in the food, pharmaceutical and consumer goods industries.
Suitable for small-to-large packages in dry or wet environments, the Versa GP can handle weighing, control and reject functions at line speeds up to 350 packages per minute. The checkweigher’s cantilever belt design is easy to clean and the belt’s adjustable height allows for flexible line placement. The Versa GP’s compact and efficient design optimises integration into an existing production line.
“For more than 50 years, we’ve been manufacturing checkweighers under the Ramsey, Best Inspection, TechnoEuropa and now, Thermo Scientific brands,” said Volkert Jan Hage, Product Manager for Thermo Fisher Scientific. “We’ve built on our expertise and knowledge to develop the Versa GP, a new generation of general purpose checkweighers that meets the needs of today’s modern, hygienic production lines.”
The Versa GP’s controller, based on the Microsoft Windows XP® operating system, includes a colour, touch-screen interface that’s simple to use and easy to read. The checkweigher can be automatically set up in just a few minutes and configured for controlled access, ensuring complete security and data integrity. A large, high-visibility weight display is supplemented by a bright “good/bad” or “go/no go” indicator.
As an option, and for increased functionality, the Versa GP’s infeed conveyor can be fitted with the Thermo Scientific APEX metal detector to provide a complete weight control and contaminant inspection station.
