will-posb20TOSHIBA TEC has introduced the new WILLPOS B20 modular terminal. Energy saving yet powerful, it is designed to reduce environmental impact and perfect for retailers who wish to protect their existing IT investments, minimise downtime and have a cost-efficient upgrade in the future.

Providing flexibility and scalability to meet even the largest retailer’s point-of-sale requirements, the WILLPOS B20 has been designed to include a powerful Intel ®Celeron® M processor 945GME resulting in a highly stable Point-of Sale platform.  This faster processing time not only improves customer throughput, but guarantees a future-proofed solution for any potential changes in application software platforms.

The superior performance of the WILLPOS B20 enables the POS to have the capability of a resilient server, removing the need for a back-office PC. This resilience can be enhanced with Solid State Discs and RAID technology.

With front and back tool-less ‘slide-out’ components and fewer internal cables, servicing the WILLPOS B20 is quick and effortless. It is also uniquely possible to remove the hard disk, motherboard and power supply without first detaching any peripherals.

The WILLPOS B20’s newly created internal monitoring system delivers improved retail insight with a sensor which is integrated within the microprocessor. Both diagnostics systems work side by side and report malfunctions instantaneously.

Remote maintenance is achieved by using an SNMP-based application which leverages real-time information allowing risk management and compliance. The self-diagnosis monitoring sensor is connected with a status indicator situated on an outer panel of the WILLPOS B20. The diagnostics display automatically alerts staff with up to seven possible irregularities during normal operations and the terminal’s draw-out mechanism is designed to allow retail staff to handle basic maintenance tasks quickly and with ease.

The WILLPOS B20 offers superior connectivity, not only providing full support for legacy peripherals, but uniquely future-proofed for innovative new options.

TOSHIBA TEC continues to demonstrate its industry leadership by designing and building POS solutions that have been instrumental in helping to reduce industrial waste. The WILLPOS B20 is compliant with both the WEEE and the RoHS EU directives and the terminal has a highly efficient CPU. The WILLPOS B20 if combined with TOSHIBA TEC’s TRST-A15 dual side ticket printer could save up to 45 percent on receipt paper costs.
