After completing the Marathon Des Sables, Morocco, in 2016, Confex Business Development Director David Lunt completed his biggest challenge yet – the first ever Marathon Des Sables, Peru, on 4th December 2017. A keen endurance runner, David braved the elements of the desert heat to complete the race in 7 days.
The event took place in the Ica desert, 300 km south of Lima, in one of the world’s driest regions, with huge dunes and sandy plateaux perched between the Pacific Ocean and the Andes cordillera and was run across some of the most beautiful South American desert.
David completed the whole event in 68h:12mins:16secs and has managed to raise over £1,750 for Helen & Douglas House Hospice.
