Isle of Wight-based Medina Foodservice has expanded its range with the launch of 250 new products, including a mix of locally-sourced products, great value own-label products and national brands.
Medina has been serving foodservice businesses on the Isle of Wight and across the south coast for more than 50 years. The business was purchased by Sysco, the world’s leading foodservice supplier, in 2019, which has opened up new opportunities and given the business access to Sysco’s comprehensive own-label range. As well as offering customers top quality, great value products, it allows Medina to compete with larger national operators on range and price, while retaining the service levels for which it is renowned.
Leading the new range are a number of locally-sourced products, which give customers greater access to local provenance, while providing producers across the region access to a potentially global market. One example is the Isle of Wight’s Homemade Brownie Company, which now has access a range of new customers, as Medina becomes its first wholesaler.
Neil Williams, Managing Director of Medina Foodservice, said: “Medina has always been known for its exceptional service, and we’ve now expanded our range by adding a market-leading own brand to our comprehensive product portfolio.
“Customers can now access the Sysco foodservice brand, which is recognised across the world, alongside products that were born on the Isle of Wight. It’s this balance of national range and value and local pride that makes Medina unique.
Medina has two depots, one in Newport, serving the Isle of Wight and one in Millbrook, Southampton serving the south coast.
