Kite Packaging has launched a new wool insulation packaging range designed to protect chilled and temperature-sensitive shipments while reducing environmental impact.
Nearly one in three cold-chain shipments in the UK face spoilage or damage. Kite is tackling that challenge by broadening its chilled packaging portfolio with a natural, high-performance option that keeps products within 2–8°C for up to 48 hours.
Available as flat pouches, box liners or as shipping ready sets with mailing bags and boxes, the solution pairs pure wool felt with a recyclable MDPE outer liner for dependable cold-chain performance.
Features and benefits:
- Maintains temperatures of 2–8°C for up to 48 hours
- Suitable for chilled food (fresh produce, meal kits, dairy), temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals and perishable goods
- Biodegradable/compostable wool layer and recyclable MDPE liner reduce waste
- Supplied as flat pouches and box liners, or offered as sets with mailing bags and boxes for a complete packaging solution
Why is wool great for thermal packaging?
Wool’s natural fibre structure traps air and slows heat transfer, giving it strong thermal abilities without relying on synthetic foams. It outperforms many conventional insulation materials used in food delivery and chilled logistics yet remains low-impact and straightforward to handle on the packing line.
The wool insulation packaging range is now available at www.kitepackaging.co.uk. For specifications, commercial enquiries or samples, please contact Kite Packaging on 024 7642 0065.
