Leading food manufacturer The Compleat Food Group has announced the appointment of Sue Bell as its Chief Technical Officer, a new position that further strengthens the Group’s senior leadership team.
Sue brings more than three decades of food industry experience, including 32 years at Marks & Spencer. Her most recent role was Head of Technology, overseeing both chilled and ambient categories as well as packaging delivery.
For the past five years, Sue has worked as an independent consultant to food manufacturing and hospitality businesses, including FareShare UK, Bernard Matthews and Whitbread, delivering continuous improvement and business transformation programmes.
In her new role, Sue will report to CEO Nick Field and will lead the Technical, ESG and Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) functions across The Compleat Food Group. The appointment marks the first time these functions have been brought together at Group board level, underlining their strategic importance to the business and its commitment to food safety, sustainability and operational excellence.

Sue’s arrival follows the recent appointment of Nick Reade as UK Managing Director, further enhancing the Group’s leadership capability as The Compleat Food Group continues to scale.
