Global food importer and distributor Empire Bespoke Foods has extended its pan-Asian Master Cook range with the addition of three new easy-cook Indian meal kits and two Korean condiments.
The new ‘just heat and eat’ dal and rice combo meals (£2.50/300g) are vegetarian-friendly and incorporate authentic dal sauces which reflect three popular regional flavours – Northern Tarka Dal, Delhi Dal Makhani and Punjabi Chana Masala. Made with no artificial colours or flavourings, the meal kits can be cooked and ready to eat in five minutes.
“We’ve identified a strong and growing preference amongst consumers for world food convenience which doesn’t sacrifice authenticity – 67% of UK consumers reported eating Indian cuisine at home in the last three months1,” commented Akash Mittal, Brand Manager at Empire Bespoke Foods. “As these are made in India with an emphasis on regional origins, and are ready to eat in just a few minutes, they more than meet both those requirements.”
Also joining the Master Cook line up are the new flavour-packed Korean-style Gochujang Ketchup (£2.19/285g) and Gochujang Paste (£2.09/135g). Inspired by Gochujang, Korea’s iconic red spicy chilli ingredient, each brings the spicy, savoury and slightly sweet taste of Korean cooking to everyday meals. The tangy ketchup is an ideal accompaniment to grilled or barbecued foods, while the highly versatile Gochujang Paste, an essential ingredient in Korean cooking, can be used in a wide variety of Korean dishes or as a marinade.
“We’re seeing increased demand for regional Asian flavours so have responded with innovative new product development,” added Akash. “Understanding our consumers and responding to their needs is crucial to the growth of the world food category.”
