Iconic British food brand Tiptree is calling on the nation to nominate the unsung heroes who make Britain’s mornings better, with one set to be crowned Britain’s Morning Hero.

Every morning, millions of people quietly get Britain moving. They’re the breakfast club volunteers making sure children start the day with a full stomach, the lollipop crossing guard helping kids navigate the school run, the NHS worker about to start a long shift, and perhaps even the neighbour who always remembers to put your bin out.

Now, it’s their turn to be celebrated.

The Raise a Toast to Britain’s Morning Heroes competition invites the public to nominate unrecognised individuals whose small acts of kindness and community spirit deserve recognition. Five finalists will be shortlisted and their stories shared, before the public votes for the person they think most deserves the title. The winner will be crowned Britain’s Morning Hero in November.

As well as the title, the winner will be treated to a farm and factory tour at Tiptree, a visit to Tiptree’s flagship tea room and an overnight stay at Marquis Suffolk, with breakfast and all additional food and travel costs covered. To keep their mornings bright long after the trip, they’ll also receive breakfast for a year, with a year’s supply of Tiptree marmalade, strawberry jam and tomato ketchup.

James Procter Blain, Head of Marketing at Tiptree, said: “We all know someone who makes our mornings better, whether it’s the lollipop crossing guard who knows every child by name, the volunteer serving breakfast before the school bell, or the neighbour who never forgets bin day. Many of them do their best work before most of us have finished our first slice of toast, and they rarely get thanked, let alone celebrated.

At Tiptree, breakfast has always been about more than what’s on the table, and we want to say thank you to these people for their kindness, generosity and hard work. We’re asking the nation to tell us who they are, so we can crown one of them Britain’s Morning Hero, with a prize worthy of the title.”

Nominations open on Monday 12th October and close at midnight on Sunday 18th October. Members of the public can nominate their Morning Hero at https://www.tiptree.com/page/breakfast-hero. The shortlist will be announced on Monday 26th October, with public voting open until midnight on Sunday 8th November.

Raising a toast to the Great British Breakfast.

The competition forms part of Tiptree’s wider Raise a Toast to the Great British Breakfast campaign, which celebrates why breakfast is such an important part of the British morning. That means not only what’s on our breakfast tables, but also the people who help make our mornings special.

To bring the campaign to life, Tiptree has created an advert, which will be shown on TV for the whole of the competition.
