Leading full-service UK distributor RH Amar has announced the promotion of Justin Burbage to Managing Director, with current Managing Director Rob Amar becoming CEO.

Burbage joined RH Amar seven years ago and has held a number of senior commercial roles during his time with the business. Most recently, as Commercial Director, he has led the company’s sales and marketing teams, playing a key role in delivering its growth strategy and strengthening relationships with brand partners and customers.

The new leadership structure will see Rob Amar take on a more strategic role as CEO, while Burbage will take responsibility for the day-to-day leadership of the business. Henry Amar remains as Chairman.

The move comes after a significant period of expansion for RH Amar which has achieved double-digit revenue growth in each of the past five years. Earlier this year, RH Amar moved into a new purpose-built HQ in High Wycombe to support its expanding operations, welcoming new brand partners including Mizkan Euro, Felicetti, Knoops, and Dunkin’ over the past year.

Rob Amar, CEO at RH Amar, said: “This is an exciting next step for our business and reflects both the growth we have achieved and our ambitions for the future. Justin has played a significant role in our success over the past seven years and I’m delighted to see him take on the role of Managing Director. As we embark on our next three-year plan, this new leadership structure will give us the focus and capacity to build on the strong foundations we have created.”

Justin Burbage, Managing Director at RH Amar, said: “I’m proud to be taking on the role of Managing Director at such an exciting time for RH Amar. We have great brands, customers and partners, an excellent team and significant investment in our infrastructure. I’m looking forward to delivering our long-term growth ambitions and those of our brand partners and customers.”

RH Amar has also bolstered its Operating Board with four new colleagues joining this group. Paul Read, who has been promoted to Sales Director, joins alongside Heads of Brand Partnerships, Sam Higgins and Anne-Marie Cannon, and Shrina Mohanlal as Head of People.

Existing board member, James Amar, who successfully led the company’s move to become B Corp certified earlier this year, will add Business Development to his remit, becoming CSR & Business Development Director.

Additional promotions in the company include Dan Richards who is promoted to Head of Grocery & eCommerce, and Luke Hemming who is promoted to Sales Manager – Wholesale.

All changes are effective immediately.
