Kite Packaging is a leading UK packaging distributor. We serve several industries, including ecommerce, retail, automotive, pharmaceutical, manufacturing and food, with a focus on helping businesses get more value out of their packaging while minimising environmental impact.
How do you explain the Kite Packaging culture?
We often describe Kite as a team sport, mostly because of our employee share-ownership model and the collaborative culture it has created. Sustainability and innovation are also core pillars of our culture. We’re constantly challenging ourselves to find better ways of doing things and solutions that work with the planet.
How does this culture assist your clients requirements?
Everyone works together, drawing from our collective strengths and knowledge to deliver the best results and service for the customer. That’s why we enjoy such high customer satisfaction, reflected in our ‘excellent’ Trustpilot rating. We are the highest and most-rated packaging distributor in the UK, thanks to our unique positioning as an employee share-ownership business. Kite Packaging is quite different from traditional companies, where employees might compete against each other for commission or promotions. At Kite, we know greater success is achieved when everyone works together.
Alongside this, we actively encourage and help our customers to ‘love [their] planet, use less packaging.’ While this might sound unusual coming from us, it’s central to our mission to help businesses make smarter, more sustainable packaging choices wherever possible. We use innovative materials and methods to ‘reduce, re-use, recycle, replace’ plastic packaging, and since 2019, we have helped customers cut 508 tonnes of packaging from their usage. Many clients tell us they value working with us because our environmental goals align closely with their own, in our practices, our offering, our values, and our vision for the future.
Do you have direct contact with customers, and get involved developing solutions?
Yes, we have direct contact with customers through our telesales department and R.A.D (Research. Analyse. Develop) team. Customers can call our telesales team for advice on our stock range and what will best suit their needs, as well as to place orders over the phone.
For more specialised requirements, particularly for larger users of packaging, our R.A.D team is on hand to help. They will arrange an audit of your business to gain a clear understanding of your packaging processes and where we can add value. The solution could be standard, off-the-shelf packaging, customisable options that already exist, a completely new innovation we engineer from scratch, or a combination of all three.
What makes Kite Packaging unique in your industry?
We’re the only employee share-owned packaging distributor in our industry, which gives us a real edge. Every employee has a genuine stake in the success they’ve helped build.
This structure creates a culture and attitude that no other packaging wholesaler can replicate. When employees own the business rather than just work in it, the commitment, care, and drive to succeed are on a completely different level.
We’re also the only packaging company in the industry to run a government-accredited packaging compliance scheme. By combining our packaging expertise with compliance, we can weave it seamlessly into the purchasing stage, making the process simpler and more efficient for our customers.
What solutions do you offer customers?
We supply everything needed to keep goods secure in transit and storage, as well as gift and takeaway packaging. Our catalogue includes an extensive range of eco-friendly products, from paper-based alternatives and recyclable materials to reusable options like our collapsible pallet boxes.
Beyond packaging materials, we offer pack room automation systems to help businesses scale their packing output. Our range includes case erectors, bagging machines, spiral wrappers, pallet wrappers, strapping and banding machines, and conveyors.
We also provide expert consultancy services, such as our free pallet wrap audits, to help businesses optimise their packaging processes while reducing waste.
With our growing product range and industry-leading expertise, our aim is to ensure customers receive only the best packaging solutions
