- Monster Ultra Fantasy Ruby Red is the latest addition to the no.1 zero sugar energy range in GB[1]
- Latest NPD builds on a strong 12 months, which has seen Monster add £78m[2] to its retail value, and remain the fastest-growing major energy brand in GB in value sales[3]
Coca-Cola Europacific Partners Great Britain Limited (CCEP) has announced the latest addition to its popular zero sugar Monster Ultra range with a new grapefruit flavoured variant, Monster Ultra Fantasy Ruby Red.
Rolling out nationwide from mid-August, Monster Ultra Fantasy Ruby Red boasts a unique grapefruit flavour that perfectly balances sweetness and tartness with a fresh citrus taste. The liquid inside is a vibrant pink colour that boasts the powerful Monster Energy blend, giving consumers a delicious, refreshing energy boost with no calories and no sugar.
Monster Ultra Fantasy Ruby Red will be available in plain and price-marked single 500ml cans, and four-can multipacks, which have been designed in collaboration with artist Mark ‘Pinky’ Taylor. Pinky was given a blank canvas to create the eye-catching graffiti-style design featured on the bright pink can, which will deliver maximum impact on shelf and help drive sales.
Red grapefruit is one of the fastest growing flavours in cold beverages[4], while zero sugar continues to be a key category driver in energy, growing at 7.6% year-on-year[5]. Monster Ultra Fantasy Ruby Red is perfectly placed to tap into this, having become Monster’s second best-selling Ultra flavour in the US[6].
Convenience retailers can request Monster Ultra Fantasy Ruby Red POS materials and download digital assets via My.CCEP.com to help bring the launch to life in-store and online.
Monster innovation driving growth
Monster Ultra Fantasy Ruby Red is the latest addition to Monster’s line-up and follows the arrival of Monster Juiced Rio Punch and Monster Monster Lando Norris Zero Sugar, which launched earlier in 2025.
Innovation has delivered 28%[7] of the energy drinks category growth over the last year – and Monster’s NPD has driven more than half of energy drinks’ innovation sales[8].
This has helped the Monster brand become the fastest growing major energy brand in GB[9], worth more than £756m in value sales[10] and adding £78m in sales[11] in the last year alone while maintaining volume growth[12]. The Monster Ultra range is the no.1 zero sugar energy brand in GB[13].
Helen Kerr, Associate Director of Portfolio Development at Coca-Cola Europacific Partners GB, said: “Energy drinks continue to increase in appeal to more consumers on more occasions throughout the day and remain the most dynamic segment in soft drinks. Much of energy drinks’ growth is being driven by zero sugar innovation, a space in which our Monster Ultra range continues to lead the way[14], with bold flavours and even bolder can designs.
“Ultra Fantasy Ruby Red is a total knockout – a punchy grapefruit flavour that’s already smashing it stateside. Wrapped in a show-stopping can designed by our long-time collaborator Mark ‘Pinky’ Taylor, it’s made to turn heads and fly off shelves. We can’t wait to see how retailers bring the launch to life in-store.”
