The 2024 annual NBC Golf Day was recently held at the Whittlebury Park golf club with perfect weather conditions for the players.
This was an excellent opportunity for passionate golfers amongst the group’s members and supplier partners to test their skills against the course and also some very important networking opportunities.
In the evening a dinner and prize presentation was held overlooking the stunning course in perfect weather. This year’s winner was Team Three:

Member & Supplier Event
The NBC Member & Supplier event was certainly the largest and most successful event in the group’s short history – a room bustling with activity and a real sense of interest in what everyone was doing.
This event also provides an opportunity to share some key messages to everyone so that we deliver on our values of trust and collaboration.
Up front and centre was Managing Director, David Lunt, who states: “The group has gone from strength to strength because the people in this room have made it happen. We provide very simple and clear benefits for our members; we provide very clear and simple service for our suppliers; by focussing upon things that matter we are able to deliver results and pass on significant benefits to everyone.”
The group has 5 significant benefits for members – access to brands at great prices, 100% of terms paid in full and on time, volume discounts and lower Minimum Order Quantities facilitated by NDN, access to a free web-2-print brochure service, and membership as an investment, not a management fee.
The group has 5 significant benefits for suppliers – one central buying point, over 60 members, annual promotion campaigns, new product launches, and bespoke brochure support.
As a result, NBC has delivered over £12 million in member terms since 2019, delivered £120 million in sales through NDN and supported members with £20 million in net pricing benefits.

Supplier Recognition Awards
The NBC Member & Supplier annual event is a great opportunity for networking and to showcase our supplier partners activities in person – after all, people buy from people is an adage that stands the test of time.
It is also an opportunity to recognise some of our suppliers that have delivered exceptional results as a result of true collaboration between our members and our supplier partners.

New Members
2024 has been a busy time for the group in many ways but there is always one topic that sometimes deserves more reflection than others – and that is the recruitment of new members. The group announced four new members who joinied the group in June:
- 6868 Fast Food
- Aytac
- Enzo Wholesale
- Shop 4 Less
Each of these businesses are significant in their own markets and bring additional scale and variety to the groups buying power and reach, particularly in Food Service. Commenting upon their decision to join NBC, Gulshen Alagoz of 6868 Fast Food states: “Once we met with the team from NBC it was clear that they shared many values that we have in our family business and that we would get instant benefits once we started, and also have the opportunity to assist the group in product categories that we are strong in.”
We welcome all of our new members to the group and wish them every success in the future.
Past chairman recognised
There was a significant degree of emotion at the event this year as NBC recognised the retirement and contributions of founding Chairman Stuart Lane. Commenting upon Stuart’s contribution to the group, David Lunt states: “This is emotional for me today, Stuart was front and centre when we decided to start the group back in 2019 and he has helped shape what we have today which is a wholly owned member buying group going from strength to strength. And Stuart managed to combine this with managing his own business day to day. We all are grateful for the commitment he has given everyone, and we wish him and Donna all the very best for their future.” A montage of Stuart’s time with the group was created as a lasting memory for him. The group is now undertaking the recruitment process for a new member director and an announcement will be made in due course.
