Nisa Local Otterbourne has shown its commitment to the local community by securing a £2,000 donation for Pavilion on the Park in Eastleigh.
The award was made possible through Co-op Wholesale’s Making a Difference Locally (MADL) charity, after the store nominated the centre for MADL’s Thrive in 2025 Heart of the Community Award.
Pavilion on the Park, which has been managed by the Eastleigh Youth and Community Trust since its opening in 2008, is a vibrant community hub dedicated to helping residents lead active, flourishing lives. With a mission to energise, enrich and support the community, the Pavilion offers a wide range of inclusive and accessible services, continuing the work of the trust which was first founded in 1962.
The Pavilion’s role as a community cornerstone was recognised when HRH The Duke of Gloucester officially opened the centre in 2008, and today it continues to deliver on its founding mission by providing essential opportunities for connection, activity and support.
Alison Stubbington, Project Co-ordinator at Pavilion on the Park, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have been awarded this donation and are so grateful to Nisa Local Otterbourne for nominating us. This funding will make a real difference to the services and opportunities we can offer the local community, some of these funds have already been used to help families in need through food vouchers and groceries.”
Assistant Store Manager Elliott added: “We’re proud to support Pavilion on the Park, which plays such an important role in bringing people together and supporting wellbeing in Eastleigh. Thanks to Co-op Wholesale’s Making a Difference Locally charity, our store has now been able to donate over £23,000 to good causes in Otterbourne, Winchester and the surrounding area.”
Kate Carroll, Social Value Lead at Co-op Wholesale, said: “This is a fantastic example of how local retailers can use MADL to support projects that strengthen communities and help them to thrive.”
