creed18England and London Irish rugby winger Topsy Ojo, is hoping to tour Australia with England this Summer, seeking everything that’s bad about Australia. But at Australia Fair at the Saatchi Gallery he discovered something Australian which was outstandingly good. Topsy is seen sampling the acclaimed “Two Brothers” wine with Australian wine master (and rugby fan) Daniel Eggleton, founder of Creed of Barossa wine.

Says Topsy: “I’m always in training so I’m not a great drinker but if I was then Creed’s wines would be my choice. The “Two Brothers” is outstanding. I hope to meet Daniel in Australia in June with the England lads. His wine will be perfect for celebrating an England series win”!

New to the UK, Creed of Barossa’s superb wines come with a fine reputation for unique style, depth and complexity. Explains master winemaker Daniel Eggleton: “Our vines are hand grown along ultimate organic principles….so much so that they are minimum-tilled to avoid root disturbance, and are grown without irrigation with minimum intervention at any stage to ensure the wines are as natural as possible”.

The vines are grown so naturally that even watering is avoided unless absolutely necessary, resulting in some of the roots going 30 feet down under. Some of the vines exceed 110 years in age. Grapes are handpicked and the wines are hand made with open fermentation, basket pressing and refined use of mostly French oak for maturation. The wines are vegan friendly (no proteins used) and low preservative. Creeds are also unfiltered to ensure pure flavour, with an adventurous approach to blending for taste perfection by Daniel Eggleton.

Available from The Wine Library and selected outlets, Creed is owned and operated by the Creed and Eggleton families of Lyndoch in the southern Barossa district of Australia. The flagship wines from the Creed range are the 2002 “Two Brothers” and the 2006 “Marque”.
