Sterling Supergroup is pleased to announce that the latest wholesaler to join the co-operative is Young’s Foodservice, located in Sunderland.
Young’s Foodservice is a family business dating back to the 1940s. In 1975, Richard’s father set up independently, producing cooked meats and black pudding. The company grew steadily, but their major expansion came in 2019 when they moved to new premises, added frozen and ambient ranges, opened a specialist butchery, and developed a full range of sandwich fi llers and their own marinades. Over the last seven years they’ve grown rapidly, earning a place in the North East’s Fastest 50 in 2024. Today, they supply a wide variety of customers from hotels and restaurants, to a Premier League football team, covering North Yorkshire to the Scottish Borders with a fl eet of 11 refrigerated vehicles.
Richard Young, Managing Director of Young’s Foodservice said, “Joining Sterling Supergroup marks an exciting step forward for us, enabling improved sourcing, stronger partnerships, and enhanced value for our customers.”
Daniel Larkin, Chief Commercial Offi cer of Sterling Supergroup, said, “Young’s Foodservice strengthens Sterling’s network by extending our coverage into a key region not currently served. Their long-standing family heritage and impressive growth make them an excellent addition to the group, and we’re excited about the opportunities this partnership will create.”
