Wednesday 16th September 12-8pm
The Botanist Bar, 35 Broadgate Circle, London EC2M 2QS
Higgidy, the maker of delicious pies, are celebrating the launch of their tasty brand-new shortcrust pastry pie, made in collaboration with the UK’s number 1 cider brand, Thatchers, with a one-day bar takeover celebration on Wednesday 16th September, dressed to celebrate Autumn apple harvest time.
‘The Cider & Shortcrust’ at The Botanist near Liverpool St, London will offer hungry City workers the chance to pick up a hot Higgidy Creamy Chicken, Mushroom & Thatchers Gold Cider Pie for just £2 throughout the day, or tuck into the ultimate Pie & Pint Meal Deal with a Higgidy Pie and a Pint of Thatchers Gold for just £5.
The latest in a series of experiential direct to consumer marketing moments from Higgidy, the bar takeover is designed to celebrate the launch of the new pie and apple harvest season, which heralds the start of the colder winter months when tucking into a hot pie is most appealing. This popular city bar takeover will see the space transformed for the day with apple trees, signature Higgidy imagery and props as well as bespoke pie and pint bars.
The special Higgidy and Thatchers Cider pies and pints will be available from 12 – 8pm, making the tasty pies and pints the perfect lunch or early supper for those working, or visiting, the area.
This new Higgidy experience follows two successful, sell out pop up pie shops, a ‘Higgidy Arms’ pub takeover, a pre-match Pie & Pint pop up ahead of the first England game in June and an activation on the first day of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival that gave people the chance to tell a joke in return for a free Higgidy snack.
Higgidy’s delicious new creamy, free-range, 100% British chicken pies made with a mix of white and chestnut mushrooms and golden Thatchers Cider, encased in butter enriched shortcrust pastry, with an all-butter puff pastry lid, hand-sprinkled with a garlic and thyme crumb. The flavour is enhanced with blended beans and butternut squash puree and made with whipping cream for extra indulgence.
The coming together of taste led Higgidy, and the UK’s top cider brand, is being further supported through a new ‘Dig into a Higgidy’ out of home advertising campaign across the country. This latest premium alcohol brand collaboration will build on the success of Higgidy’s partnership with Guinness, and their Higgidy Slow Cooked Steak & Guinness Pie.
‘The Cider & Shortcrust’ bar will be open to all. To find out more follow Higgidy on social media @higgidy where full details of the event will be made available.
